Attack on Titan has enjoyed a number of unique merchandise collaborations and brand partnerships, including with restaurants like KFC and Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, and apparel brands like Uniqlo, YoungLA, and Sanrio. Now, an unexpected and amusing collaboration has just been released that fans were likely not expecting: a ramen commercial for Cup Noodles.

An Attack on Titan fan page on X, @AoTWiki, has posted the hilarious ad spot that features Erwin Smith, Zeke Yeager's Beast Titan, and Survey Corps members, Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert, among other pivotal characters from the franchise. The video features the Survey Corps' famous clash against the Beast Titan, with a hysterical snack food surprise.

Attack on Titan’s Most Famous Fight Appears in an Advertisement for Cup Noodles

Zeke Yeager and Erwin Smith Battle With Noodle Cups Rather Than Weapons in a Hilarious Twist

The advertisement, aired in Brazil, opens with a shot of Erwin Smith, the 13th Commander of the Survey Corps, delivering an impassioned speech to his men. During this season three scene, the Beast Titan hurled a handful of stones at the approaching soldiers, decimating Erwin's entire army and fatally wounding him. The commercial added a lighthearted change to this originally somber moment and Zeke's Titan flung a handful of Cup Noodles at the Survey Corps instead. This callback to such a well-known Attack on Titan sequence is sure to delight fans, who will appreciate the humorous ramen addition.

Titans with Cup Noodle packages for bodies and a Colossal Titan with a package of Cup Noodles for a head also appear in the advertisement, tearing down buildings and eating innocent humans, as Levi Ackerman and the Survey Corps retaliate against the monstrous creatures. All the scenes shown in the video appear in the anime itself, without the ramen noodles included, of course. The commercial closes with an introduction to Cup Noodles' new Nacho flavor as a Titan looms behind the food item ominously. Overall, the commercial is one that Attack on Titan fans are sure to never forget.

Brands Like McDonald's and KFC Are Unveiling More Anime Collabs Than Ever Before

Jujutsu Kaisen, Dragon Ball Daima, Spy X Family, and Hunter X Hunter Have Appeared in Similar Partnerships

Even though Attack on Titan's anime and manga have concluded as of last year, it is still one of the most well-known anime franchises of all time, in Japan and worldwide, making it an excellent choice for advertisements such as this one. Food-based anime collaborations have been very successful lately. Dragon Ball Daima recently joined with McDonald's in Hong Kong to release a themed menu of items, including a Japanese-style katsu chicken burger and purple sweet potato balls. McDonald's has been very involved with anime lately too. This summer 2024, the fast food chain released a Jujutsu Kaisen Special Grade Garlic Sauce.

McDonald's also recently unveiled their WcDonald's rebrand and released a Hunter x Hunter meal complete with collective cards and bags based on the characters. Kentucky Fried Chicken has also gotten in on the anime action, with a Jujutsu Kaisen merchandise partnership including shirts and other apparel, and an X post referencing Gojo and Geto's heartbreaking final conversation outside the fried chicken chain. With anime at the height of its popularity, now is the best time for brands to pursue creative and memorable advertising opportunities, like fast food meals and advertisements like this Attack on Titan Cup Noodles commercial.
